Archaeological Evidence in Support of the Book of Mormon: A City Discovered

By AllAboutMormons.com Webmaster - 7/5/2009

Recently one of the cities mentioned in the Book of Mormon was discovered! The description of Lehi's journey in the Arabian desert, given the Book of Mormon, was sufficient to identify the region where the town of Nahom should be located. Tne ruins of an ancient city with the same name were identified at the location expected.

The Book of Mormon states that Ishmael was buried in Nahom (1 Nephi 16:34). Interestingly, there are many graves found among the ruins.

For many years, anti-Mormons have criticized the "complete lack of acheological evidence supporting the Book of Mormon." Today, this criticism is no longer valid. However, the greatest evidence of the Book of Mormon continues to be the influence of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, which testifies of the truthfulness of the book.
