If you have a question, you might find it helpful to chat with a Mormon missionary online.

I belong to another church, but my boyfriend will soon go on his Mormon mission, and I understand how important it is since I've been investigating the LDS church myself. I'm going to miss him so much during these two years; he's a wonderful man. At the same time, though, I'm so proud of him. Missionary work is such an admirable work and he has my full support, even though I'll miss him a lot. Any advice?

Hi friend. I'm very happy to hear that you support your missionary boyfriend and that you're proud of his missionary service. What a wonderful blessing for him to have such a support at home!

I remember when I was a missionary. I grew spiritually during those two years in ways I'd never anticipated. When I came home from my mission, I was a very different person. I was hardly a perfect person, but I was a better person than I would have been otherwise.

I'm sure your boyfriend will grow and change while he's on his mission as well. It's important that you grow spiritually while he's gone! I encourage you to read the scriptures and to pray daily. I also invite you to meet with the Mormon missionaries. I'm sure your boyfriend has talked to you about our belief in eternal families. Perhaps it's premature to think about marriage, but I can think of no greater blessing than to be married forever in one of the temples of the Lord. Temple marriage has certainly been one of the great blessings of my own life. Begin now to prepare yourself!

Let me know if you have any additional questions. I'd be happy to help. God be with you.
