How do you explain baptisms for the dead? I have a friend interested in finding out the true doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but she is not interested in becoming a member or getting the missionary lessons. She had a question about the baptisms for the dead, and I tried to explain with scriptures and lds.org information. I was wondering if there was anyone who knows how I can go about approaching this question. I thought about the Book of Mormon, but have not gotten one to give her yet.
