I have a friend who recently started going to your church, but he said I couldn't go with him because I don't live in his neighborhood. Can you explain?

Hi friend. I'm very happy to hear that you and your friend are interested in the church! Being Mormon has been a great blessing for my family and me. How exciting that you are beginning such an important spiritual journey! I know from personal experience that the gospel of Jesus Christ can transform lives. It's certainly transforming mine.

Usually, Mormons are divided into congregations according to geography. Each neighborhood is assigned a specific Mormon congregation. In your case, though, you just want to get to know more about the church. I think it would be fine to visit the church with your friend in the beginning. Later on, when you're more comfortable and if you decide to join the church through baptism, you should consider attending the local congregation to which you officially belong. I'm sure the members of your local congregation would love to welcome you into their church family!

Good luck! Let me know if you have any additional questions about the church. I'd be happy to help.
