Latter-day saint, Farnsworth invented stereo. I do not know the present status, but LDS are well represented in the scientific-techie community in most parts of the world.

Apparently I was home teaching the other day and my companion said that Browning of the Browning Remmington rifles was a member of the church. He developed the way so bullets could spin so that they wouldn't be affected as much by the wind.

Sorry, but your companion is wrong. Browning was Mormon, but Browning and Remington are two different men who created two different weapons companies. Rifling, the method of spinning a bullet as it travels down a gun barrel, was invented hundreds of years ago. Long before either of these two men lived..
