Hey there. I just read your recent response regarding the Word of Wisdom and noticed you mentioned “black tea” as being against the Word of Wisdom. As a former herbal-tea drinker, I've kept my eyes peeled for many years, looking for any kind of official clarification as to what “tea” means. Since you specified, I was wondering if you'd found something.

Thanks!

The tea that is proscribed by the LDS faith is the English Tea.. Such as Earl Grey etc. Also Green Tea which is high in caffeine.

Herbal teas are just that... Eg cinnamon, peppermint, and others. Only the teas that have loads of tannic acid (tannin) and/or caffeine fall into the proscribed category.
