There have been a number of articles published recently in the news ridiculously questioning whether or not Mormons are Christian. Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the divine Savior of the world, through whom salvation is made possible. Is this not the very definition of Christian? I recently started participating as a volunteer with the Church's Addiction Recovery Program, sort of like Alcoholics Anonymous for Mormons. I confess that I first wanted to participate because I was looking for a service opportunity that involved talking with people face-to-face, rather than screen-to-screen. The "Mormon Church" has recently published a video series describing how we can communicate with God. It is truly remarkable to have a modern-day Prophet describe what is a fairly abstract concept in understandable, almost concrete terms.
Communication with God is critical for spiritual progress. To be able to trust God, we have to know Him.
