Brigham Young, second President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ranks among the most influential and important historical figures in American history. As president of the Church, he was responsible for the mass (and forced) migration of 19th-century Mormons from Illinois to the Salt Lake Valley, earning him the nickname "American Moses."
