It was Hard to Imagine that God had More Scripture

by John Jeremiah Conroy

Since it was first published in English in 1830, the Book of Mormon has been fully translated into 72 languages.

It took me a while to read the Book of Mormon and really ponder over it in my heart. When you have been taught not to add or take away from the Bible, it was hard to imagine that God had more scripture available for us. I was taught that the gifts and revelation and ceased. So I can relate and understand how people arent receptive to the Book of Mormon. It wasnt until I turned to Ezekiel 37:15 thru 22 that God opened my eyes to show me that the one stick for Judah and its descendants represent the Bible and the stick of Joseph is the descendants of Joseph in the Book of Mormon. God showed me a revelation in the Bible and then I realized the Bible and Book of Mormon were both scripture. I kept reading the Book of Mormon and one night at 3am in the morning I woke up with the Holy Ghost revealing to me that the Book of Mormon was true. I had felt the Holy Ghost moving in my heart. I was warm and felt joy peace and energy. I could hardly wait to tell my mormon missionairies and friends that I knew the Book of Mormon was true. The Holy Ghost was so strong that I also knew that the church is true. The joy and excitement and warmth I felt of the Holy Ghost was a sign and answer for me that the Book of Mormon is true. I still know to this day that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and is true. Even as a inactive member in the church I can honestly say that I can never deny my testimony in my spiritual heart that the Book of Mormon is true. I will always know in my heart that the Bible and Book of Mormon is true. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour amen.
