Why do most Christian denomination churches say they are the only true church on earth and the rest have to pay with punishment or some form of hell when they leave this world, it is confusing or it seems that Satan is the author of this belief

Hi Joseph. Thanks for your question. I'm not qualified to comment on other religions' beliefs. I don't think all Christian churches believe that way, but I can't really say how prevelant that attitude is among other Christian denominations.

It's reasonable that most religions assert that their teachings are true. Why would anyone belong to a church that didn't make some truth claim? To the extent that two churches teach mutually exclusive things, one must be right and one must be wrong. Truth is not relative, and people should stand up for what they believe in. Certainly members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also believe that theirs is the true church.

On the other hand, I agree with you that it's wrong to claim that members of other faiths will go to hell. Most people, regardless of their religion, are trying to do what they believe is right. God isn't going to condemn people to hell simply because they make one theological mistake or another.

I'm grateful that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not believe that those of other faiths are destined for eternal suffering.
