What would come after my conversion if I decided to become a Mormon convert?

Hi Amanda. Thanks for your additional question. Shortly after baptism, new members are confirmed with the gift of the Holy Ghost. This confirmation is meant to strengthen the new convert spiritually.

There are also lessons and classes to help the new convert continue to grow their gospel knowledge. For example, you may receive the new-member discussions from the missionaries or ward mission leaders. These lessons are similar to the ones that the missionaries teach before baptism. Many wards also provide new-member Sunday-school classes during church services on Sunday.

New members are also often given small callings (or responsibilities) in the church, if they want them. Serving others in and out of the church can further strengthen spirituality, regardless of whether someone is a new convert or long-time member.

New converts also start preparing for temple worship. They can perform vicarious baptisms for their ancestors in the temple not long after their own baptism. Other kinds of temple worship require a bit more spiritual preparation... about a year.

I sincerely love being a member of this church. I hope you find the same joy in this religion one day! Please let me know how your story ends if you get a chance.

If you're able to endure to the end and keeps your baptismal covenant you will be exalted at the last day. And I testify to you that these things are true.. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
