Hey I’ve been going to your church lately and my boyfriend is Mormon. I’m thinking about converting but there’s a problem. I was married before in the Catholic Church. That marriage was never annulled. Can you give me some advice?

It's great you're thinking about joining the church! This church has been such a blessing in my life. I'm so grateful for the teachings of Jesus Christ that I've learned here. I hope you find the same blessings in this wonderful religion.

If you were married legally, you need to get a divorce before you can marry in our religion. But, if your previous marriage was only religious (not civil), I think there won't be a problem. It would be good to talk with your boyfriend's Bishop about this. He might be able to provide you with further direction.

I hope this answer helps! Congratulations again for all the exciting things going on in your life. :-) All the best.
